Frost Dragons are located inside a mysterious entrance found in the Asgarnian ice dungeon, there are a total of 20 Frost Dragons located in this area.
Frost Dragons can be assigned as a Slayer task from both Kuradal, and Duradel. They will grant 10,000 Slayer experience for each kill.
The requirements needed to kill Frost Dragons:
- 90 Slayer
- Must have voted in the last 12 hours. (To enter the cave.)
Frost Dragons are very dangerous to those who do not pay attention, as they use 4 different attack styles as well as a reflection prayer that deals 100% of the damage you would have dealt from you. This prayer often leads to players killing themselves when not looking.

Fighting Strategy
Throughout each kill a Frost Dragon will only ever use 3 out of the 4 attack styles mentioned above:
- Melee
- Fire Breathe
- Either Ranged or Magic
The prayer you should be using while fighting Frost Dragons is either protection from ranged or magic, depending on which one the Dragon you are killing is using. This is because the magic/ranged attacks are far more damaging to the player than the Dragons melee attacks. The player should also use a Super antifire potion, or a normal Antifire potion along with either an Anti-dragon shield or a Dragonfire shield to avoid the dragon fire.
The only way to find out whether they are using the ranged attack or magic attack is to get hit by the attack.

Magic Projectile:
There is one last thing you need to look out for during the fight and that is for when the reflection prayer pops up. When this is up you need to stop attacking immediately as 100% of the damage you would have dealt is directly dealt to yourself, while dealing nothing to the Frost Dragon. This only lasts a few seconds, but it is very easy to K.O yourself if you aren't paying attention.
Reflection Prayer:
Gear and Inventory Setup
The best setup to use at Frost Dragons is melee. However, the other styles will also work nicely.
It is highly recommended to use a bunyip here as this will heal you against the few attacks that you will be taking. This will also allow you to eat less food allowing you to stay longer.
Inventory Setup
Only super and extreme donators can use a Bonesack to pick up Frost dragon bones, so unless you have one of these ranks, trips at Frost Dragons will be very short, thus not requiring a lot of supplies. The gear you should bring is exactly the same no matter what set up you decide to go with.
- 3x Prayer potion (4)
- 2x Super antifire or Antifire potions (4)
- Special attack weapon (one handed if using regular antifire potions)
- The rest of your inventory should be food.
Super or extreme donators may replace one of the food slots with a Bonesack which will hold up to 50 Frost Dragon bones.
Once you get more and more confident you can bring less food so you don't have to waste as much to pick up the bones.
Getting There
Step 1: Teleport to Asgarnian ice dungeon by clicking on the world map icon, beside the minimap, then choosing 'Combat Training' then 'Asgarnian dungeon'
Step 2: Follow this path and enter the mysterious entrance
Tips and Tricks
- It may help to have auto retaliation off, so your character won't try attack the dragon while it has the retaliation prayer up.
- The retaliation prayer has a chance to appear every time the Frost Dragon is hit, this includes when hitting a 0, and indirect damage, like damage from recoil rings and poison.
- Due to the reason above, it can help setting your prayers to the normal prayer book, as the protection prayers in the curses book, recoil damage.
- If you are having trouble with telling which prayer to use, go to the settings tab and enable the 'hitmarks' option, this will show you which style of combat you are being hit with (Just note that dragon fire breath appears as a magic attack).
Drops
Frost Dragons drops are not very exciting with the best drop you can receive being a very rare draconic visage. So almost the entirety of the money you will make at Frost Dragons is from the bones you will receive. There is also a very rare chance to get a Pet Frost Dragon upon killing a Frost Dragon.
