Thieving

Thieving is a skill which allows players to obtain coins and items by stealing from market stalls or by pickpocketing NPC's. It is a great skill for starting off an account, as you will earn a lot of money very quickly.

Market stalls

Grand Exchange (Edgeville)

The stalls at the Grand Exchange in Edgeville give the most XP and are recommended to train thieving at.

Pickpocketing

Pickpocketing is the act of stealing from anothers pocket. This results in little gold, but very high experience. The downside to Pickpocketing, is that you have a chance to get caught, which will cause the player to take damage and be stunned for a while. This puts Pickpocketing and stealing from Stalls at roughly the same experience per hour. Most NPCs can be found walking around in the Ardougne area, the others all around Runescape.

Useful Items and Boosts

	Bonus Experience	All experience gained will be multiplied by 3 until the bonus experience runs out.	Logging in every day grants 200k Bonus Exp. Every 10th vote streak rewards you with 500k Bonus Exp. Purchase 1m Bonus Exp for 5k premium points.
N/A	Monthly Bonus	All experience gained is multiplied by 1.1 Voting during this time adds an additional 1.25 multiplier.	Play during the 1st to the 5th of every month.
	Brawling Gloves (Thieving)	Doubles all Thieving experience gained.	Dropped by all Revenants. Received as a Voting Sortition Reward. Bought from the skilling point store.
	Rogue Equipment	Provides 10% extra Thieving experience.	Bought from Max the Skilling Point Shop. Bought from players.
	Double Eyepatches	Improves cash reward from thieving by 10%.	Completing the 'Master Thief' task
	Thieving Skillcape	Obtained from the wise old man after achieving 99 Thieving	Chance to steal two stalls in one go.
	Completionest Cape	5% experience boost	Obtained from the Wise Old Man after completing 122/125 tasks and getting 99 in every skill.

Thieving Pet

You can get a thieving pet at random while thieving, there is no further known rate on getting the pet.

The thieving pet is called Rocky.

The Skill Cape

If you reach level 99 in Thieving, you can talk to the Wise Old Man at home to obtain the Skill cape. He is located at home, in the building north of the bank.

The skillcape costs 30 million coins and comes with a matching hood. Both the Thieving cape and hood give +9 bonus to all defense stats.

If you reach 200m experience in the Thieving skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Thieving Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This master skillcape costs 80 million coins.
