Fletching is a skill which allows the player to create various types of ranged weapons and their ammunition. The products of this skill are primarily used in the combat skill, Ranged.

Getting Supplies

To train Fletching, all you need is a knife, and some logs.

The knife is very easy to obtain. Just Teleport to Edgeville (Home) and buy one from the general store, located north west from the teleport spot, for 100gp.

As for the logs, there are three ways to obtain them.

Chop them yourself using the Woodcutting Skill.
Buy logs from other players.
Completing the 'Make the Cut' task by reaching 99 Woodcutting. (Can only be done once)

Bowstring Usage

Bowstrings can be bought from the crafting shop here. The requirements to string a bow are the same as making the bows (u).

Bolt Tips

Fletching bolt tips from cut gems is considered the most efficient way to level up fletching as it can be done alongside crafting. All you need to do this step is a Chisel and the cut gem.

Adding Bolt Tips to Bolts is another way to train Fletching, and can actually be faster than using logs, a huge benefit to using this method, is that you can be doing this anywhere. Even while training another skill. The only downside to this method is that getting the required materials can be quite time consuming. Each Bolt Tip requires a specific Bolt in order to be made, you can find which metal bolt goes with which Bolt Tip in the table below.

Adding Dart Tips to Feathers is another way to train Fletching, you can fletch darts to use either use them for your Blowpipe or to pvm/pk with.

You would need to fletch roughly 71.910 Magic Logs in order to achieve 200 million Fletching Experience, from level 99.

Useful Items and Boosts

The Skill Cape

If you reach level 99 in Fletching, you can talk to the Wise Old Man at home to obtain the Skill cape. He is located at home, in the building north of the bank.

The skillcape costs 30 million coins and comes with a matching hood. Both the Fletching cape and hood give +9 bonus to all defense stats.

If you reach 200m experience in the Fletching skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Fletching Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This master skillcape costs 80 million coins.
