Introduction

Prayer is a relatively simple to train, though after time it can get very tedious and repetitive.

The Prayer skill can be very useful when you are, for example, fighting a very difficult boss monster or fighting other players in any of the many PvP areas. There are two different sets of prayers. The default "modern" prayers are enabled by default, and include prayers up to level 70. For players with higher prayer levels, the ancient curses are a much more powerful set of prayers.

Though Prayer can be very useful, and very rewarding, it is also one of the most expensive skills to train, depending on whether you choose to get the bones required yourself, or buying it from other players.

The faster method would be to buy the bones, which would cost a lot of money, but like mentioned, gets the job done fast, or you can kill monsters for the bones, which can take weeks at times.

  • Super Donators can change their Prayers from Normal Prayers to Curses anywhere besides the Wilderness, Minigames, and in Combat situations.

Getting Bones

If you were one of the people that would rather put in some extra work and go slaying for these bones, the following will show you exactly where and how to get them.

Note though, getting the bones yourself may be much more rewarding, but it will also take much longer than buying the bones.

Bones

You can acquire normal bones by killing any kind of low level creatures around Grinderscape.

Unless you have no other option, I would not recommend using this type of bone to train up this skill, as many types of bones are much better, and not very hard to obtain.

A good example of this are men NPCs.

You can find many of these by teleporting home to Edgeville, and walking east to a building resembling a warehouse.

Big Bones

Like normal bones, these bones are also very simple to get.

Some good monsters to kill for these bones are Moss Giants, as they aren't hard to kill.

You can get to Moss Giants by opening your spellbook and clicking on Combat training teleports, and choosing the 'Edgeville Dungeon' option at the top, and then walking south to the NPCs.

Dragon Bones

Dragon bones are one of the best bones for this skill, bested only by Wyvern bones and Zorgre bones.

Dragon bones are a 100% chance drop from any type of dragon in Grinderscape.

Because killing high level or low level dragons makes no difference for the bones, I suggest killing Green Dragons.

I recommend killing them in the northern regions of North Neitznot, as the only other alternative location is near a very popular PKing location, where the risk of being attacked and or killed is very high.

Location:

To get there, go to your spellbook's Neitznot teleports, and click on North Neitznot.

When you arrive, walk north of your initial location after having arrived, and click on the beginning of the broken bridge there (The bridge is broken but still works).

Now walk north once again until you see Green Dragons to the most northern part of Neitiznot.

Wyvern Bones

Wyvern bones are only dropped by one monster in the game; Wyverns.

Wyverns can be found in 'Asgarnian Dungeon ' within the Combat training teleports.

Note though, to get to Wyverns, you will need a crystal key.

These keys are dropped from many monsters in the game(Check the drops list for more info).

When you arrive in the dungeon, you will soon see a cave entrance to one of the cave's sides.

When you see it, go through the entrance (You will need your crystal key).

Once you enter the sub-cave, you will see the high level monsters.

Zogre Bones

Zogre, or Z Bones are the best bones in the game for training the prayer skill.

Like Wyvern Bones, this type of bone is only dropped from one monster.

This time, they are dropped by the boss monster Mutant Tarn.

You can find out exactly how to get to Tarn, and how to kill Tarn by reading through [1] guide.

Frost Dragon Bones

Frost Dragon Bones are gained from kill only Frost Dragons. Frost Dragon Bones are great for gaining good Prayer experience. There are 2 ways of which to get to their location, the first of which is through a trapdoor South of Port Sarim.

Another way is through Asgarnian dungeon. This is found in the Combat Training teleport.

Training

Training is pretty straight forward.

To train this skill, all you will need to do is take the bones you have, and bury them in the ground, or by using the on a Gilded Altar.

Using bones on a Gilded Altar gives twice the experience for each bone, that burying it in the ground would give you.

So to be as efficient as possible, and to save as much money as possible if you did buy the bones, I recommend using them on a Gilded Altar.

The altar can be found north of Edgeville Bank.

Get there by teleporting home from your spellbook and walking eastward toward the Wise Old Man.

The Skillcape

When you reach level 99, you may buy your skillcape from any Wise Old Man in the game, there are a few Wise Old Man NPC's but the easiest one to find is at home, just east of the altar north of the bank. The skillcape will cost you 150.000 coins.

The prayer hood and the prayer cape give you +18 defence bonus (+9 bonus each).
