Jungle Demon

The Jungle Demon is one of the least killed bosses in Grinderscape. This is mostly due to the boss not having any incredibly useful or unique drops. Despite its terrible drop table, and low combat level, the Jungle Demon is quite a difficult boss to kill, mostly because of its versatile, hard-hitting attacks which will cause you to continuously eat, no matter what you are praying.
The protection prayer you should use while killing the Jungle Demon is protect from magic, as most combat gear has low defensive stats against magic attacks. If you do have decent magic defence, try using protect from ranged. Due to this boss having a relatively low defense, maximising your defencive stats is more important than offensive bonuses, if you want to get more than a few kills each trip, in order to spend as little time banking as possible.

Getting There

  • Step One: Teleport to Taverly dungeon, all you do is click on the world map button, beside your minimap p5WpixQ.png and then choose the "Combat Training" category, then selecting "Taverly Dungeon"

  • Step Two: Run north, pass through the spiked floor, and run south

  • Step Three: Enter the portal by Black Demons and pray against magic

Gear Setup

Here is the best gear to use in each gear slot:

Head: Primal Full Helm > Torva Full Helm > Vanguard Helm > Battle-Mage Helm > Helm of Neitiznot > Berserker Helm

Torso: Torva Platebody > Vanguard Body > Primal Platebody > Bandos Chestplate > Battle-Mage Robe > Dragon Platebody > Fighter Torso

Legs: Torva Platelegs > Vanguard Legs > Primal Platelegs > Bandos Tassets > Battle-Mage Robe Legs > Dragon Platelegs

Gloves: Barrows Gloves > Vanguard Gloves > Primal Gauntlets > Battle-Mage Gloves

Boots: Primal Boots > Steadfast Boots > Vanguard Boots > Dragon Boots > Battle-Mage Boots

Amulet: Blood Necklace > Amulet of Fury > Amulet of Glory

Ring: Onyx Ring (i) > Berserker Ring (i) > Eye of the Warrior > Warrior Ring (i) > Berserker Ring > Warrior Ring

Cape: Completionist Cape > TokHaar-Kal (Kiln Cape) > Max Cape > Fire Cape > Ardougne Cloak 4

Offhand: Divine Spirit Shield > Elysian Spirit Shield > Primal Kiteshield > Flameburst Defender > Dragon Defender

Weapon: Abyssal Vine Whip > Katagon Longsword > Lava Whip > Bandos Whip > Abyssal Whip

Spec Weapon: Dragon Claws > Dragon Dagger

Inventory Setup

The inventory you take doesn't matter too much when you're killing the Jungle Demon, as it is very possible to bank and return before the Demon respawns.

A suggested inventory set-up:

  • 3x Overloads/ Extreme Potions
  • 6x Prayer Potions
  • 17x Rocktails/Sea Turtles/Sharks
  • Spec Weapon
  • Teletabs

Tips and Tricks

  • Safespotting between kills.

The Jungle Demon has a somewhat unconventional 85-second respawn timer, which makes it very difficult to time the spawns without using an external timer. Rather than bothering with that, you can save prayer by hiding behind the eastern rock formation between kills. The spot shown is the best square to stand on, because it is an even number of squares away from the Jungle Demon's spawn, meaning that your character will automatically run to the demon and start attacking. If you stand a square to the left or right, your character will run under the demon and spend a few seconds dancing around instead of fighting.

Drops

The Jungle Demon has quite a boring drop table, the only item with any value is a rather rare Staff of Light. There is also a very rare chance to receive the Jungle Demon pet while killing the Jungle Demon.
