Introduction

Runecrafting is a very important skill as an ironman, as it will be the main source of runes for magic. The skill is used to turn ordinary essence into various runes depending on the alter you are at, for Grinderscape, the easiest training method is shown below. However, as you will most likely be making various runes to suit your spells requirements, this is not always the best route to take.

  • To train Runecrafting even faster, hold down CTRL and click on the Essence in your bank to withdraw a full inventory with one click.

How do I begin Runecrafting?

First you will need to teleport to South Neitiznot, to do this you will want to go to your quest tab and click "skilling area"

Once there, you want to buy either Rune Essence or Pure Essence. However since both Essences do the exact same thing, it is much wiser to buy the cheaper, Rune Essence.

While buying essence, buy yourself a talisman of the rune you will be making, and get a tiara. When you are at the altar use the tiara on it and it will be enchanted. While wearing an enchanted tiara you will gain 10% more runecrafting xp for the corresponding rune.

After you have bought an adequate amount of either essence. It is time to start Runecrafting! Teleport to South Neitiznot using your Neitiznot teleports found in the spell book, and talk to the Mage Of Zamorak just north of where you teled to.

The next step would be Talk to the Mage of Zamorak, once you have done so - you will have the option to teleport to different locations to turn essence into runes. At this time, if you're just going for 99 - crafting Airs until you are level 88 and then moving on to Astrals until 99.

At level 88 you will want to switch to Atral Runes, to get to the altar you click City Teleports then Lunar Isle.

Notes

Using the Knowledge pool (Yellow pool) located in Donator zone 1 will double the xp gained for a set time.

Runecrafting is very expensive for hardcore ironmen, so it is a good idea to use this with bonus XP.
