Firemaking is a skill used to light fires. It is the companion skill of Woodcutting.

Getting the Supplies

To train Firemaking all you need is a tinderbox and the logs that you are lighting.

You can get your tinderbox at the Edgeville General Store for 1gp

As for the logs, there are three ways to obtain them.

Chop them yourself using the Woodcutting Skill.
Buy logs from other players.
Completing the 'Make the Cut' task by reaching 99 Woodcutting. (Can only be done once)

Experience Table

Firemaking is very simple. All you need to do is click on the tinderbox and then click on the log that you want to burn, you may also click the log first and then the tinderbox, that really doesn't matter.

You would need to burn 31,161 Magic Logs in order to achieve 200 million Firemaking Experience, from level 99.

Players can also gain experience from using an Inferno Adze while woodcutting. When using the Adze, players have a 1/3 chance of gaining burning experience for the type of log they are cutting.

Bonfires

Bonfires give 0.8 times XP so regular firemaking is more xp, but alot more intensive. It also allows you to boost your HP 30% higher than your max hp! (this will lower by time like usual stat boosts) Bonfires will ALWAYS use every log in your inventory, of the log type that you used.

When bonfiring, you would need to burn 38,952 Magic Logs in order to achieve 200 million Firemaking Experience, from level 99.

Tips

Find an area close to a bank with a large empty space so you can light fires without having to walk around obstacles. An example of a good place to train is the Grand Exchange.
Have your inventory set up like the picture shown below, this way you can click on the last Log in your inventory and your tinderbox repeatedly, without having to click on each Log.

Useful Items and Boosts

	Brawling Gloves (Fm)	Doubles all Firemaking experience gained.	Dropped by all Revenants. Received as a Voting Sortition Reward. Bought from the skilling point store. At random from a Brawler Chest.
	Inferno Adze	Has a 1/3 chance of granting Firemaking experience while chopping trees.	Bought from the Skilling shop at Edgeville.
	Infernal Hatchet	Has a 1/2 chance of granting Firemaking experience while chopping trees.	Bought from players. Use 1k Perfect Dragon Scales on a dragon Hatchet.
	Completionest Cape	5% experience boost	Obtained from the Wise Old Man after completing 122/125 tasks and getting 99 in every skill.

The Skill Cape

If you reach level 99 in Firemaking, you can talk to the Wise Old Man at home to obtain the Skill cape. He is located at home, in the building north of the bank.

The skillcape costs 30 million coins and comes with a matching hood. Both the Firemaking cape and hood give +9 bonus to all defense stats.

If you reach 200m experience in the Firemaking skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Firemaking Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This master skillcape costs 80 million coins.
