Main page/Guides/Ironman & Hardcore/Skilling Guides/ Woodcutting
This is the ironman / hardcore ironman Woodcutting guide, the guide for regular players can be found here.
Woodcutting is a gathering skill that primarily involves chopping trees to obtain logs used in the Fletching and Firemaking skills. Players with a higher Woodcutting level can chop down new types of trees and cut down trees quicker. As levels increase, players can use better hatchets which further increase the speed of cutting trees.

Smithing
As an ironman, you cannot simply buy the hatchets from the store. You will have to make them yourself using the Smithing skill. You can create all hatchets from Bronze - Rune this way.
Skilling Shop
The Dragon Hatchet and Inferno Adze can be bought from the Skilling Point Store, this can be found by trading Max either at Edgville, or at the Donator Zone. The inferno adze has the same cutting power of the Dragon Hatchet, but when using it, players have a 1/3 chance of receiving the Firemaking experience that you would normally get for making a fire from the type of log the user is currently cutting.

Magic Logs | 75 | 2.083 | 4.166 | 1250 | 2500 |
Note: When you reach level 99, xp will get reduced by half.
For HCIM it would be best to get 99 Woodcutting in the following order if you are trying to get to level 99 in all skills.
Logs Type | Level |
---|---|
Regular Logs | 1 - 21 |
Oak Logs | 21 - 31 |
Willow Logs | 31 - 45 |
Maple Logs | 45 - 61 |
Yew Logs | 61 - 75 |
Magic logs | 75 - 99+ |
If you are playing HCIM you won’t have loads of bank space. So banking all the logs isn’t an option. We talked about combined skilling and you’ll think it would be good to instantly burn the logs or fletch the logs. Correct, if you don’t have an Inferno adze ready at level 61. You can however bank: Maple logs, Yews logs and Magic logs. (Willow too if you have the bank space.)
Tree Locations
Arctic pine can be found at south Neitiznot.
Teak & Mahogany tree's can be found at the east side of miscellania.

Camelot
Camelot is the best place to train Woodcutting, as it has every type of tree close to a bank.
- Normal Trees can be found all around Camelot.
- Oak Trees can be found south of the Camelot teleport.
- Willow Trees can be found north-west of the bank.
- Maple Trees can be found directly north of the bank.
- Yew Trees can be found in the courtyard of the church south of the bank.
- Magic Trees can be found directly south of the bank.
Further south of Camelot, you can find 4 Magic Trees that are often not being used, this is a nice place if you want a less populated area. However, it is quite a long walk from the bank. A map on how to find these trees is shown below.
Donator Zone
New Donor zone
Donors have access to another high level woodcutting area. Which is conveniently close to a bank.
Old Donor zone
Donors still have access to another high level woodcutting area. Which is conveniently close to a bank. This place is mainly for the magic tree's, it's a quite place and almost nobody is around here because it's quite the long run to get there. (Teleport castle wars - run south)

Once you achieve 99 Woodcutting you will complete the task "Make the cut" which will give you the following items:
The Skill Cape
If you reach level 99 in Woodcutting, you can talk to the Wise Old Man at home to obtain the Skill cape. He is located at home, in the building north of the bank.
The 99 cape costs 90K Gp and comes with a matching hood. Both the Woodcutting cape and hood give +9 bonus to all defense stats.
- For HCIM, this cape will cost only 300 gp.
If you reach 200m experience in the Woodcutting skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Woodcutting Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This cape costs 15m Gp.
- For HCIM, this cape will cost only 50k gp.
