The Kalphite Queen is a very powerful boss that requires attention if you plan on staying long. This is because it can attack with all three combat styles and hit up to 31 damage and can even use the melee attack at a distance, but worst of all it has two different stages which use protection prayers that block 100% of the players damage if they are using the wrong style.
In contrast to a lot of other bosses, choosing which prayer to use at the Kalphite Queen is a very tricky due to the fact that the Kalphite Queen has multiple attack styles.
Due to the Kalphite Queen's low hitpoints, it is much more worthwhile to tank as much damage rather than getting a high DPS.

Fighting Strategy
Kalphite Queen can be a frustrating boss at first, but once you practice this strategy enough you will be getting more and more kills per trip.
Form 1 (Crawling stage)
The first form of the Kalphite Queen looks like a scarab beetle, and uses all 3 combat styles against you. This form uses a protection prayer which blocks out 100% of both magic and ranged attacks. So the only combat style to work against this form of the Kalphite Queen is melee.
Form 2 (Flying stage)
The second form of the Kalphite Queen looks like a wasp like creature, and uses all 3 combat styles against you. This time however, the Kalphite Queen uses a protection prayer which blocks out 100% of melee attacks. So you will either have to use magic of ranged attacks to damage her.
Prayer
The main thing you need to know other than which gear to bring is which prayer to use. Now this is where the Kalphite Queen gets a little trickier than other bosses, as all 3 combat styles deal the a high amount of damage with similar accuracy. However, the secret to successfully killing the Kalphite Queen is that when she uses an attack, more often than not she will repeat that attack. So this means the protection prayer you should be using is the one that protects against the Kalphite Queen's last attack. Although this means you will be getting hit every now and then when she switches combat styles you will be getting hit less than if you were to use a single prayer.
Gear and inventory setup
There are two main options to choose from when preparing for to kill the Kalphite Queen.
Option 1 is to bring both melee, and either magic or ranged weapons and armours.
Option 2 is to utilise the set effect of veracs, this barrows armour has the ability to ignore protection prayers allowing you to use melee when fighting the Kalphite Queens second form.
No matter which option you are using, the best familiar to bring along is a bunyip. The healing power of the bunyip will not only save you food, but also reduce the amount of time you have to spend eating rather than killing, thereby speeding up your kills a little bit.
Option 1 Gear
You will need to be using melee to kill the first form of the Kalphite Queen, so it is highly recommended to use the best melee weapon, helmet, torso, and legs you can. Vanguard armour is a great choice of armour, as it has very good ranged, and melee stats. The second form requires either a magic or ranged set-up. Ranged is preferred over magic as it uses less inventory space. So like the melee set you will be using, bring a weapon, helmet, torso, and legs of the style you are using (along with runes or arrows/bolts). Your other gear slots should be filled with gear that has bonuses that effect both styles of combat that you are using.

Option 2 Gear
Simply bring your veracs set, as well as the best melee items you have for the other gear slots.

Tips and tricks
Safespotting between kills
The 105-second respawn timer for KQ doesn't easily match with any in-game cues, so the best way to save prayer is to run to the spot shown between kills. You won't be attacked when the Kalphite Queen spawns, so you can put on your prayers, and then run out and attack.
Drops
The Kalphite Queen has a number of good drops and a very high drop rate.
