Ice Queen
The Ice Queen is a moderately dangerous boss with a variety of special attacks. Luckily, she only uses magic based attacks, so the obvious choice for prayer is Protection from Magic. However, her attacks will still do partial damage through the prayers, so armour with strong magic defence and high healing food is important to bring. The most common attack style used against the Ice Queen is magic, as the Ice Queen has a relatively low magic defense and the healing ability of blood barrage will save the eating a lot of food. An alternative choice is to use melee; although you'll use more food than if you were using magic, the kills you get will be much faster. For either style, using a divine spirit shield will be highly beneficial due to its damage absorption effect.
The Ice Queen has the 3 types of attacks, these are:
- An ice barrage attack that can freeze the player, and hit up to 55
- An earth surge that can hit up to 55 and is multitarget
- A special attack that drains your prayer by up to 40 points
Of the three, the prayer-draining attack is the most dangerous, because if your prayer runs out you will be taking a lot more damage very quickly.

Gear and inventory setup
As noted above, the best combat styles to use against the Ice Queen are magic and melee. Players on a tight budget will probably prefer magic gear, as it is much less expensive to get good magic gear than it is to get good melee gear. However, players with sufficient money for high-level gear like an Abyssal Vine Whip will get much faster kills with melee. The good thing about kill the Ice Queen is that you can bank between kills, so you don't have to rely on a single inventory of food to camp this boss. The low hitpoints and defense of the Ice Queen means that you don't need to worry too much about maximizing your offensive bonuses, so you might as well get decent defensive gear.
The best familiar to use here is a bunyip, as the healing power of the bunyip will not only save you food, but also reduce the amount of time you have to spend eating rather than killing, thereby slightly speeding up your kills.

Inventory setup
Your inventory setup will depend on your combat style and level of gear. It is very easy to teleport out and bank between kills as you do not lose the kill count that is needed to enter the portal, so having a perfectly optimized inventory setup is not hugely important. However, a good inventory will make it easier to get kills without constantly having to teleport out and bank.

Tips and tricks
Keeping your prayer high
The Ice Queen has a nasty habit of rapidly draining your prayer, making you more vulnerable to her attacks. You can partially counteract this by knowing when to drink a new dose of prayer potion. When your prayer is drained to zero, it does not immediately turn off; instead, you have a few seconds in which you can drink a dose of prayer potion and prevent your prayer from ever turning off. You can exploit this to save yourself a bit of prayer by only drinking when absolutely necessary. Additionally, if you are at 10 prayer and an Ice Queen attack would have drained 40 prayer, the other 30 points of drain will never occur.
Valiantly running away
If you start to get overwhelmed by the Ice Queens attacks and you are in imminent danger of dying, keep in mind that there are numerous safespots in the Ice Queen dungeon. The quickest way to get safe is generally to hide behind one of the rocks in the area. You can also simply run far to the south, beyond their range of attack.
Drops
The Ice Queen boasts surprisingly good drops and very high drop rates, particularly given how fast they are to kill. Although none of the drops are individually very valuable, they quickly add up over time. The drops, along with estimated drop rates, are listed in the table below:
