Abyssal whip & colored whips

The whip is among the most powerful and popular non-degradable melee weapons and is capable of attacking at the same speed of daggers and scimitars at 2.4 seconds per hit. One of the downsides of the abyssal whip is that it is not effective for training strength as the only attack option available which will provide strength experience is the "lash" attack option, which provides shared experience.

There are 7 kinds of whips. The original Abyssal Whip, 5 Coloured whips and the Abyssal Vine Whip.

The colored whips:

• White whip
• Ice whip
• Gold whip
• Bandos whip
• Lava whip

All of the whips require 70 attack to equip, However, the two stronger whips, Bandos whip and Lava whip, require 75 attack to equip.

The Bandos whip counts as a Bandos item and will stop the NPC's in the Bandos God Wars Dungeon lobby from being agressive towards you.

Obtaining the Whips

Abyssal Whip

The Abyssal Whip is the normal version of the whips. As such, it is the most methods to obtain. The Abyssal Whip can be obtained as a drop from the WildyWyrm boss, or Abyssal Demons with a drop rate of about 1 in 50 kills.

An Abyssal Whip is a potential reward from the Voting Sortiton. You gain credit to spin every time you vote. To access the Vote Sortition, you click the "Roll Sortition" button in the quest tab, it can be found under the "Luck games" title.

Abyssal Whips can also be purchased from the Vote Store for 30 Vote points.

Lastly, Abyssal Whips can be purchased from Sir Vant's Training Point Store for 2.5k points.

White Whip

The White Whip can only be obtained from killing Abyssal Demons, it is far rarer than the Abyssal Whip, so it may take a long time to find.

Ice Whip

The Ice Whip can only be obtained from killing the Ice Queen boss.

Gold Whip

The Gold Whip, like the White Whip can only be obtained from killing Abyssal Demons, it has the same rarity as the White Whip, so it may take a long time to find.

Bandos Whips

The Bandos Whip can only be obtained from killing General Graardor.

Lava Whip

The Lava Whip can only be obtained from the Voting Point Store.

Attack styles

Whips are weapons that deal slash damage. Slash weapons will do extra damage to those monsters with a specific weakness to slash attacks, and slightly less damage to those monsters with any melee weakness. As with all melee weapons, they deal poor damage against monsters with a weakness to magic, and strong damage to monsters weak to ranged.
