Smithing is the art of turning metal bars into armour or weapons. As you gain a higher smithing level, you are able to make higher-level armour and weaponry. If you achieve a high smithing level, you may never have to buy armour again.
This guide will teach you some of the best and fastest methods of reaching 99 smithing, and even teach you how to make some money on the way there.
How to Start
Your best bet is to use the Neitiznot teleport in your spell book, and go to "North Neitiznot". Once there, talk to "Miner Magnus" to buy a pickaxe and a hammer.
Getting 99
Fastest Way to 99
The fastest way to 99 smithing is smithing bars into coins after having made them. This will give you XP for both making the bar, and smithing it to coins (You will need a hammer for this).

The skillcape
Congratulations on achieving 99 Smithing! It was a long road and you deserve your smithing skillcape!
Teleport to home, and run towards the Gilded Altar, next to which the Wise Old Man will be walking about.
Trade him and you will be able to receive your smithing skill cape!
