Woodcutting is a gathering skill that primarily involves chopping trees to obtain logs used in the Fletching and Firemaking skills. Players with a higher Woodcutting level can chop down new types of trees and cut down trees quicker. As levels increase, players can use better hatchets which further increase the speed of cutting trees.

Obtaining Hatchets

Firstly you will need to buy Hatchets to be able to cut down trees, Hatchets can be bought from Wilfred located in Seers Village or Donator Zone.

The Dragon Hatchet and Inferno Adze can be bought from the Skilling Point Store or from other players. The Inferno Adze has the same cutting power of the Dragon Hatchet, but when using it, players have a 35% chance of burning the log and receiving the Firemaking experience that they would get for burning the type of log they are cutting. The Infernal Axe can be made by using dragon scales on a dragon axe or can be bought from other players. It requires level 61 to use and has the efficieny of a level 91 tool. It works the same as the Inferno Adze, but has a 50% chance of burning the log instead of 35%.

Training within the wilderness resource area grants a 1.5x xp bonus. The wilderness resource area only contains yew and magic trees. Furthermore, the burning xp from the effects of the inferno adze and infernal hatchet are subject to the increased xp.

Note: When you reach level 99, xp will get reduced by half.

Tree Locations

Arctic pine can be found at south Neitiznot.

Teak & Mahogany tree's can be found at the east side of miscellania.

Camelot

Camelot is the best place to train Woodcutting, as it has every type of tree close to a bank.

• Normal Trees can be found all around Camelot.
• Oak Trees can be found south of the Camelot teleport.
• Willow Trees can be found north-west of the bank.
• Maple Trees can be found directly north of the bank.
• Yew Trees can be found in the courtyard of the church south of the bank.
• Magic Trees can be found directly south of the bank.

Further south of Camelot, you can find 4 Magic Trees that are often not being used, this is a nice place if you want a less populated area. However, it is quite a long walk from the bank. A map on how to find these trees is shown below.

Donator Zone

Donators have access to a high level woodcutting area at the donator zone, which has a bank placed right across the Magic trees.

Donator area

Donators have access to another high level woodcutting area, which also has a bank closeby. This place is mainly for the Magic trees, but also has a few Yew trees. It is a relatively unknown spot, which is why it's usually empty. You can get there by running all the way south from Castle Wars teleport - past Jungle Strykewyrms (remember: only donators can access this Woodcutting area).

Resource Area

To get to resource Area, TP to Mage Bank, bring a sharp weapon to cut spider webs outside of Mage Bank, then walk East until you pass the ravine and get to the door, which you can either peek or pass for 2.5m gp

	Inferno Adze	Has a 35% chance of granting Firemaking experience while chopping trees.	Bought from the Skilling shop at Edgeville.
	Infernal Axe	Has a 50% chance of granting Firemaking experience while chopping trees.	Created by using 1,000 perfect dragon scales on a dragon pickaxe. Tier 5 reward from a Premium Chest. By buying from players.
	Completionest Cape	5% experience boost.	Obtained from the Wise Old Man after completing 122/125 tasks and getting 99 in every skill.
	99 Skillcape	Chance to cut two logs instead of one.	Obtained from the Wise Old Man after getting 99 Woodcutting.

Woodcutting Pet

You can get a woodcutting pet at random while woodcutting, there is no further known rate on getting the pet.

The Woodcutting pet is called the Beaver.

The Skill Cape

If you reach level 99 in Woodcutting, you can talk to the Wise Old Man at home to obtain the Skill cape. He is located at home, in the building north of the bank.

The skillcape costs 30 million coins and comes with a matching hood. Both the Woodcutting cape and hood give +9 bonus to all defense stats.

If you reach 200m experience in the Woodcutting skill you will also unlock the ability to buy the Master Woodcutting Cape. It is exactly the same as the normal Skill cape. However, you can adjust the trim colour to whatever you like. This master skillcape costs 80 million coins.
