The Abyssal Vine Whip is the second most powerful non-degradable melee weapon, and is capable of attacking at the same speed of daggers and scimitars at 2.4 seconds per hit. This is often the choice of weapon for players who wish to do any kind of monster killing. One of the downsides of the Abyssal Vine Whip is that it is not effective for training strength, as the only attack option which provides strength experience is the "lash" attack option, which provides shared experience.

The Abyssal Vine Whip requires level 75 attack and level 80 slayer to equip.

How to Obtain

The Abyssal Vine Whip can be obtained in a number of ways.

Slayer Master Reward Shop

You can purchase an Abyssal Vine Whip from any Slayer Master for 2,000 slayer points. Every time you purchace an Abyssal Vine Whip from the slayer shop, this price will increase by 500 slayer points, this caps at 4,500 slayer points.

Crafting Your Own

While training slayer every time you kill the monster you are assigned, you have a very rare chance of recieving a Whip vine. If you have purchaced the ability to craft Abyssal Vine Whips from slayer masters for 1,000 slayer points, you can combine the Whip Vine with a normal Abyssal whip to create an Abyssal Vine Whip.

Voting Sortition Reward

An Abyssal Vine Whip is a potential reward from the Voting Sortiton. However, the Abyssal Vine Whip has the lowest chance to be obtained out of all of the possible prizes. To access the Vote Sortition, you click the "Roll Sortition" button in the quest tab, it can be found under the "Luck games" title.

Attack styles

The Abyssal Vine Whip only deals slash damage (all styles). Slash weapons will do extra damage to those monsters with a specific weakness to slash attacks, and slightly less damage to those monsters with any melee weakness. As with all melee weapons, they deal poor damage against monsters with a weakness to magic, or ranged.

Special attack

The Abyssal Vine Whip possesses a special attack similar to the Abyssal Whip, Energy Drain, which consumes 25% of the special attack bar, increases accuracy by 25% (of only that special attack), and in PVP transfers 50% of the target's run energy to the user.
