Players who are soloing the Corporeal Beast will likely need quite a bit of food to finish a kill.  Even if its damage output isn't as high as other bosses like The Untouchable or Slash Bash, the sheer weight of hitpoints makes Corp a challenge to take down.  While fighting the Corporeal Beast, players should take care to keep their hitpoints above 70, or they could be dropped in a single hit.  Torva Armor is particularly effective for this purpose, as the increased maximum hitpoints makes it easy to stay safe.  Damage-reducing shields like the Elysian Spirit Shield Defense Shield are also commonly used to lower the chance of getting hit high.

Due to the Corporeal Beast's attack styles and the need to pray Protection from Magic, the best armour to wear is melee armour. Coincidentally, the best attack style is also melee. Although it's possible to use Blood Barrage at Corp, it is quite slow and risky if you happen to step next to the beast. Ferocious rings are fairly cheap, so longevity isn't a huge deal here. However, insufficient defense gives you a greater chance of being combo'd to death by a few lucky hits, so you might as well bulk up on defense.

It's possible to use a bunyip as your familiar here, and the extra healing can come in handy. However, keep in mind that a bunyip can only heal you if your hitpoints are below the maximum. In order to make use of a bunyip, you will have to spend a lot of time with your hitpoints in the 70s and 80s, which is very risky. A better choice is to bring a Beast of Burden familiar - a Pack Yak, War Tortoise, or Spirit Terrorbird. You can then pack this familiar full of extra food to help you last longer.

Like many other bosses, the Corporeal Beast has a 123-second spawn timer. As it turns out, it takes exactly 120 seconds for an item dropped on the ground to despawn, so the Corporeal Beast will respawn 3 seconds after the drop from the previous kill disappears. Assuming you aren't picking up his bones, you can use this indicator to turn on your prayer right as the boss respawns.

The Corporeal Beast has some of the rarest and most valuable drops of any monster. The main drops revolve around getting the supplies to create Spirit Shields, these drops are Holy Elixirs, Blessed Spirit Shields and most importantly the Sigils. If you get the Holy Elixir you can combine it with a spirit shield to make a Blessed Spirit Shield. Once you have a Blessed Spirit Shield just add a sigil to it to produce one of the four sigil spirit shields. There is also a very low chance of receiving a Dark Core Pet from the Corporeal Beast. This is the only Boss pet that isn't a direct copy from the main boss. This is because the Corporeal Beast Pet is given to those who report a dupe.

Corporeal Beast

One of the most iconic high-level RuneScape bosses, the Corporeal Beast is well-known for its valuable - but rare - drops. Corporeal Beast attacks with powerful attacks in all three combat styles. However, using Protection from Magic will reduce the damage output by 33.33%. While fighting the Corporeal Beast, players should keep their health above 70 at all times.

Getting there

You can get to Corporeal Beast by using the teleport interface (which can be accessed by pressing CTRL + T on your keyboard or by clicking on the world map in-game).

This will teleport you outside of Corporeal Beast's lair. To enter, right click on the passage and select "Go-through".

Mechanics

Corporeal Beast has a 50% damage reduction against any weapon that is not a spear or halberd. Meaning the best way to kill the boss is with one of following weapons (from best to worst):

1. Zamorakian hasta
2. Vesta's spear
3. Zamorakian spear

Protect from Magic or Deflect Magic prayer is required, however the protection prayer will not fully protect you from its attacks: it only reduces the damage output by 33.33%. For this reason it is recommended to keep health above 70 at all times to prevent being one hit.

Dark Core

While fighting Corporeal Beast, whenever the player hits above 32 damage, there is a chance a Dark Core will spawn. The Dark Core will attack players and heal the Corporeal Beast. It is recommended to kill the Dark Core immediately to prevent it from doing damage and healing.

Restocking

As the entrance to Corporeal Beast is free and a teleport outside of the lair is available, it is very easy to teleport out and back in between each kill to restock or restore your stats/special attack energy.

Gear & Inventory

Corporeal Beast has a 50% damage reduction against any weapon that is not a spear or halberd. Meaning the best way to kill the boss is with a Zamorakian spear. It is also recommended to bring a Steel Titan to help you kill the boss faster. Using the special move requires a steel of legends scroll.

 It is recommended to use a Steel Titan familiar (requires 99 summoning). This summoning familiar will help you attack Corporeal Beast with its special move. Steel of legends scrolls are required to use the Steel Titan special move.
