The '''Black Knight Titan''' is a powerful boss that drops several different Chaotic weapons and shields.  In RuneScape, there's not always a 1:1 correspondence between the level of a mob and its actual difficulty, and the Black Knight Titan is a great example of that principle.  Despite having a combat level of '''1224''' - higher even than pre-EoC Nex - the Black Knight Titan is relatively weak. The Titan's melee attacks will hit about 50% through prayer, so against players using Prayer Protection against Melee, its maximum hit is just 35.  It also has low defense, making it a very quick boss to kill.  The Titan makes up for this, though, by having attacks that are extraordinarily accurate and can poison.  Even with full Torva Armor and an Elysian Spirit sheild, which provide 500+ slash and ranged damage, the Titan's attacks will hit very frequently.

Besides his regular attacks, the Black Knight Titan also can give players the skulled icon. When skulled, all items will be lost upon death and will drop on the floor.

The Black Knight Titan uses both melee and range attacks, but never magic, so the obvious armour to wear is melee armour.  Luckily, melee is also the most effective attack style against the Titan.  Players with full Torva Armour can take advantage of increased max hitpoints, which dramatically reduces the chance of getting killed.  For many bosses, the goal is to maximize damage-per-second (dps), even at the expense of defense.  Here, though, defense is much more important.  As the next section explains, accessing this boss effectively costs 110m per trip.  Therefore, the goal should be to maximize the number of kills per trip, rather than maximizing the speed of those kills.  In case of crashers, players can bring alternate gear to increase their offensive capabilities.

The Black Knight Titan has high defences, which means good armour is required in order to kill the boss. It is recommended to use melee to kill the boss. Using magic with ice barrage is an alternative method to kill the boss: this will avoid getting hit by the 74 melee attack, but will take much longer to kill.

The most effective way to maximize the time a player can last killing the Black Knight Titan is to bring the best Beast-of-Burden familiar available, preferably a Pack Yak. There is no point in going to the Black Knight Titan only to get 5-10 kills per trip - the cost of Blue Keys and Ferocious Rings will make the trip unprofitable. Another important fact to consider is that the Black Knight Titan has about a 1/10 chance of dropping 100 un-noted Sharks. Getting one of these drops late in the trip can dramatically increase the number of kills that are possible in one trip. Starting with a nearly-empty Pack Yak, a player could easily use/pick up 30-40 of these sharks, thus gaining up to 800 hitpoints of staying power from one drop.

One of the skeletons in this dungeon spawns in the boss room, so it will occasionally wander over and attack you. You can reduce the probability of it attacking by standing in the location shown between kills. This location also allows the Titan to attack you as soon as it spawns, so you get the most efficient kills. If you're low on food, you can also use Prayer soul split on the skeleton to recover a few hitpoints between kills.

The Black Knight Titan is one of the less-crowded bosses; however, crashing is always a possibility. Since it costs approximately 110m just to access the Titan, you don't really want to get there and have to leave immediately, so it's a good idea to check if someone is there first. Under game chat, a message will display whenever someone kills the Titan, so if no such message appears for at least 5 minutes, then it is almost certainly empty.

If someone is at Titan, it's considered good etiquette - not to mention good business - to private message them first and ask when they plan to leave. You might decide to try forcibly displacing them anyway, but at least you'll have the option of knowing when/if they will be gone.

Part of maximizing your trip length is minimizing the number of prayer potions/super restores you have to bring. The easiest way to do this is to time the spawn so that you turn on prayer just as the Black Knight Titan respawns. You can pull this off by noting that the Black Knight Titan has a respawn timer of exactly 123 seconds, while items left on the floor will disappear after exactly 120 seconds. Therefore, as soon as his previous drop disappears (there should be bones left on the floor even if you picked up the drop), turn on your prayers again.
