There are six types of spirit shield, the stronger ones being upgraded versions of the basic spirit shield.
The basic spirit shield requires level 40 Defence and level 55 Prayer to wield, and its bonuses are comparable to those of a Rune kiteshield.
A blessed spirit shield requires 70 Defence and 60 Prayer to wield, and has improved bonuses, similar to a Dragon square shield's stats.
The four upgraded spirit shields require 75 Defence and 75 Prayer to wield and due to there incredible stats, and special effects. These shields often make these the choice for players who are killing bosses.
The Arcane Spirit Shield is often used for magic set-ups due to its high magic accuracy. While the Elysian and Divine are often used for their powerful damage absorbing effects. The Spectral has higher magic defence than the other Spirit Shields, however, it is very rarely used.
Obtaining the Spirit Shields
'Plain' Spirit Shield
The weakest spirit shield is the 'plain' spirit shield, there is an unlimited supply of free Spirit Shields from the Supply Table located in Edgeville. You can use the ::pksupply command to teleport here.
Blessed Spirit Shield
There are two ways of obtaining a Blessed Spirit Shield, these are:
- Recieving it as a rare drop from the Corporeal Beast.
- Creating your own by adding a Holy Elixir to an ordinary Spirit Shield. Doing so requires level 85 Prayer and grants 10k Smithing experience. The Holy Elixir is also a rare drop from the Corporeal Beast.
Upgraded Spirit Shields
There are four kinds of sigils that can be attached to a blessed spirit shield to further upgrade the shield. The four different sigils are:
- Arcane Sigil
- Divine Sigil
- Elysian Sigil
- Spectral Sigil

Divine Spirit Shield
The Divine Spirit Shield has a 100% of chance of absorbing 30% of the damage received.
The nerf is only for PvP inside wilderness, outside the wilderness and against wilderness NPCs the divine still works as usual.
When a player is inside wilderness, it will have 75% of absorption chances rather than 100% as usual. When a player is inside wilderness, it will consume the double of prayer compared to outside.
